A Week of Performances at the Britten Theatre

As the academic year comes to a close, Central School of Ballet is due to celebrate 2022/23 with a week of dance performance at the Britten Theatre in London from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 July. These five performances will be the culmination of a year of intensive training and determination from the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The School’s Summer Performance will run for two evenings on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 July featuring students from first and second year as well as Ballet Central. The show will demonstrate the breadth of the year’s training as dancers perform Classical Ballet, Contemporary, and Spanish dance. The evening will also feature two original pieces of choreography from Central’s MA Choreography students Daniel Davidson and Cameron MacMillan.

On the 12th and 13th July, Ballet Central 2023 will perform their final two shows. This marks the end of a 13-venue tour to theatres across the country. The final year students who make up Ballet Central will now graduate ready to take up careers in dance companies around the world.

On the afternoon of the 13th July, these students will perform their graduation solos in a private show for friends, family, and staff of the School. These solos have been assessed as part of the students’ final year dissertations alongside written work to secure their BA degrees in Professional Dance and Performance. The solos will be followed by a celebratory ceremony marking the end of the dancers’ time at Central.
