Auditions

Auditioning for our Undergraduate courses is the beginning of your journey at Central School of Ballet. Prospective students have the choice of auditioning in-person or online through a video audition.

Students at Central School of Ballet are chosen on the basis of their talent in dance and potential to develop the skills required for their chosen profession. The school considers applicants on their suitability for a course and their potential to successfully complete the training. All applicants are assessed, in line with our audition criteria and relevant policies.

In-Person Auditions

Applicants are encouraged to audition in person where possible. In-person auditions take place in a number of locations across the UK including in London, Glasgow, Manchester and Truro. We also hold auditions internationally in locations such as Osaka, Singapore, Tokyo and South Korea.

Video Auditions

Each year, Central School of Ballet is delighted to welcome international students from all over the world and continues to encourage talented dancers to apply. If you are applying from overseas, you are invited to submit a video audition. UK applicants who are unable to attend an audition in person are also welcome to apply via video audition.

Open Days

We offer both in-person and online open days to ensure that all applicants have the opportunity to learn more about Central and to meet our team of staff and tutors. In-person open days take place at our home here in London, in The Countess of Wessex Studios.

Dance Days

Dance Days are designed to give students a taste of our professional training course and guidance on how to access full-time vocational training with Central School of Ballet. The one day events are held annually in locations around the UK for young dancers aged 11-16 years who are hoping to pursue full-time vocational training in a Higher Education setting.
