Ballet Intensives
Central School of Ballet offers a range of intensive ballet courses for dancers aged 11 – 16 throughout the year. In October half term, aspiring dancers can join Central for an audition preparation course, specifically designed to prepare student’s for vocational auditions and to ensure they feel confident to perform their best. At Easter, dancers can join Central’s Spring Course to experience life in a full-time vocational ballet school. There are also one week and two week courses available in the summer for both UK and international dancers.
International Summer Courses (11-16 years)
The Summer Courses attract talented dancers from around the globe and provide an immersive taste of life in full-time training at Central School of Ballet. There are one week and two week courses available. Optional English lessons can be booked for international students attending the two week course for an additional fee.
Entry Requirements
Open to students aged 11-16 years old, in school years 7-11, with a minimum of RAD Intermediate Foundation or equivalent for 11-13 years and a minimum of RAD Intermediate or equivalent for 14-16 years.

Additional Info
Participants should wear their regular ballet uniform of leotard, tights, and ballet shoes, including pointe shoes for girls. Convertible tights can be worn for ease of transition between classes. We recommend that participants are equipped with a notebook and pen.

Course Outline
The courses include a Ballet class every day, The course includes a Ballet class every day as well as additional pointe work and coaching. Other classes are included to provide experience of various dance and related disciplines such as Contemporary, Repertoire and Pilates. Subject to the length of the course, other dance disciplines such as Jazz, Character or Creative Choreography may also be included. The Summer Courses are open to boys and girls aged 11-16 years old. Please note, accommodation and meals are not provided on this course.
Autumn Audition Preparation Course (14-16 years)
This intensive ballet course offers participants the opportunity to improve classical technique and receive coaching in preparation for vocational auditions. Students are taught by tutors from Central’s ballet teaching faculty.
Entry Requirements
Open to students aged 14-16 years old, in school years 9-11, with a minimum of RAD Intermediate or equivalent.

Course Outline
The Autumn intensive offers aspiring dancers the opportunity to work with Central’s degree ballet tutors in the setting of a vocational ballet school. The course aims to develop dancers confidence and understanding of how to perform in auditions. The course includes a daily ballet class focusing on audition technique, with additional pointe work or allegro and coaching. Other classes include contemporary, improvisation, Pilates and strength and conditioning, with a particular focus on warming up for auditions. Participants will also receive individual feedback from tutors on the final day of the course. Note that this course is specifically for young people with a minimum of RAD Intermediate or equivalent in the 14-16 age range.
Spring Course (11-16 years)
The Spring Course offer aspiring dancers aged 11-16 the opportunity to experience a taste of full-time professional training at Central School of Ballet and to learn from tutors who teach Central’s Foundation and BA Undergraduate courses.
