Male student dancers wanted! Central extends admissions for male undergraduate applicants

Central School of Ballet has extended its admissions process specifically to attract male applicants for September 2021 entry, for its Foundation Degree/ BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Performance.  Typically, fewer boys than girls study dance, and yet men are more in demand when dance companies and theatrical productions are casting.  Central wants to attract those boys who have perhaps considered professional dance training but have not yet applied to Central.  Artistic Director Christopher Marney, who trained as an undergraduate and postgraduate student at Central, and went onto perform worldwide with prestigious dance companies like New Adventures, explains that boys sometimes hold back when thinking about professional dance opportunities, or lack knowledge about where to get the best training for future careers: “We want to offer the most talented boys the opportunity to get world-leading training and succeed in a dance career where male dancers are sought after.  So don’t hold back, and apply to Central where we have a track record of developing successful dance professionals with great career opportunities.”

The process of application to Central’s undergraduate course is as before, but for this final boys-focused round, Central will be operating a rolling admissions process meaning that offers for places this September will be released as soon as the most suitable applicants have been identified.  A prompt response is encouraged.  All applicants will be notified no later than Friday 2nd July 2021.

Note that applications for female undergraduate dancer places for this September are now closed.
