Applications Open for Central’s Associate Programme

Central School of Ballet announces today that applications for its renowned Associate Programme are now open for September 2023 entry.

Central’s pre-vocational training for aspiring dancers from 11 – 16 years offers the opportunity to train with prestigious tutors, many of whom also deliver Central’s degree level full-time dance training.  The Associate Programme runs on Saturdays at Central’s bespoke dance studios in London located in the South Bank arts community.  The core classes are in classical ballet, but the Programme also includes classes in pointe work, Contemporary, Repertoire and Pilates (dependent on age), all designed to complement teaching in local dance schools.  This range of classes delivered in a professional dance setting from industry experts means that dancers experience a high quality of training that can directly lead to Central’s undergraduate degree course.

Jo Hurst, Associate School Manager said: “The Associate Programme provides classical ballet training designed to help aspiring dancers prepare for a future performing career and to complement regular training after school.  Student dancers join our classes on Saturdays in term time from across England and we aim to work together with local dance teachers to help young students achieve their potential and reach the level needed to pursue full-time professional dance training.”

Many of the tutors who teach Central’s Associates deliver Central’s degree level dance training. This gives dancers on the Associate Programme the opportunity to learn from industry experts and experience a high quality of training comparable to what is offered at undergraduate level.
