Virtual Open Day announced for young dance students interested in Central’s Associate Programme

Central School of Ballet has announced a virtual open day to help young dancers aged 10 – 15 years find out about its renowned Associate Programme.  The open day will take place on Saturday 1st May and will offer the chance to watch current Associate Programme students in ballet and contemporary classes, and to participate in a live ballet class with one of Central’s ballet tutors.  An information session is part of the open day where young aspiring dance students can learn more about the programme with the opportunity to ask questions.  There are two sessions for different age groups:

Session 1       11.30-4.45pm: girls in Years 8,9 & 10, boys in Years 9 & 10

Session 2       12.45-4.45pm: girls in Years 6 & 7, boys in Years 6,7 & 8

Central’s Associate Programme offers ambitious dance students weekly Saturday classes for those aiming for full-time professional dance training. The programme is designed to supplement weekly dance lessons after school and is specifically aimed at students in academic years 7 to 11 to provide an understanding of the methods, skills and training at a professional dance school. The Saturday classes run in term time over the three academic terms commencing in September each year.  Many students on the Associate Programme progress to full-time vocational and degree level training age 16 at Central, and at other dance training organisations.  Applications for Central’s degree courses is a separate process, with separate open days, see Degree Courses.
