Joseph Poulton

Joseph Poulton’s career spans ballet, musical theatre, film, and television. He trained at the Academy of Northern Ballet, Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance, and Central School of Ballet graduating with a BA(Hons) in Professional Dance and Performance.

His stage work includes most notably Cats — playing Mr. Mistoffelees in the West End revival at the London Palladium, My Fair Lady (London Coliseum, UK & Ireland Tour), Disney’s Aladdin (UK & Ireland Tour, 1st cover Iago), Evita (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), Hairspray (UK Tour), Kiss Me Kate (UK Tour), The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre), Todrick Hall’s Midnight the Musical (Sadler’s Wells), Carousel (London Coliseum), Porgy & Bess (London Coliseum), Blues in the Night (Kiln Theatre), Man of La Mancha (London Coliseum), and The Wind in the Willows (West Yorkshire Playhouse). He has also performed with Ballet Black at the Royal Opera House and toured nationally with Ballet Central. On screen, his work includes the feature film Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again (Universal Pictures) and ITV’s All Star Musicals.

Joseph is also third year ballet teacher at Bird College and teaches widely across UK dance and drama conservatoires, as well as working as a choreographer.
