Alex Tatham
A long career in the IT industry as head of the UK’s largest privately owned technology businesses – Westcoast Limited – until its recent sale, Alex can boast a high profile in the industry and in the Thames Valley where Westcoast was situated. As the managing director, Alex was passionate about promoting the industry to women and as a result, chairs the Cornerstone Group of Employers promoting careers in schools. This lead to his appointment as Careers Advisor to Maiden Erlagh School in Reading where he helps to promote their outstanding adoption of the Gatsby benchmarks.
Alex also sits on the Technology Leadership Group for the King’s Trust, supports Britain’s largest social mobility charity – Speakers for Schools; promotes diversity and equality in the IT industry as well as now being a governor for Central School of Ballet.
Professionally, Alex qualified as a chartered accountant with EY in 1991 and spent 30 years in the IT industry post qualification mainly with London listed Ideal Hardware plc, Bell Microproducts Inc. and latterly Westcoast. He now sits on the Board or as an advisor to a large number of IT and AI related businesses.
He was educated at Eton College and has a degree in Zoology from University College, Durham having received his degree from the then chancellor - Dame Margot Fonteyn.
He is married to Sue, who he famously met on TV’s Blind Date, and together they form Britain’s longest married reality TV couple. They have two children and are both huge ballet enthusiasts.
