Summer Courses at Central School of Ballet

International Summer Courses for aspiring dancers aged 11 – 16 will run at Central School of Ballet this July and August. The Summer Courses offer dancers the chance to experience life as a full-time dance student in Central’s professional facilities. This year’s courses will run from Monday 24 July until Saturday 5 August with options to attend classes at the school for one or two weeks.

Dancers will take daily ballet classes for the duration of the course from the same tutors who teach the school’s degree course, as well as a variety of guest tutors. Learning from the experts, they will be able to improve their technique and artistry and build on skills developed in regular term time ballet classes. Ballet training will cover technique, repertoire, pointe and allegro to offer dancers a comprehensive introduction to Central’s training.

Ballet classes are supplemented by classes in a variety of other styles taught by guest tutors, all with a wealth of industry experience. Supplementary classes will include Contemporary, Jazz, and Pilates offering a range of experiences for participants to broaden their skills. Dancers will also enjoy a Creative Choreography workshop led by Charlotte Edmunds who previously graduated from Central with an MA in Choreography. Those attending the two-week course will also benefit from two additional masterclasses.

The courses are open to dancers from all around the world as well as across the UK. Additional English language classes are available for those on the two-week course who are learning English as a second language.

Applications close on Friday 30 June.
