Central School of Ballet, the leading professional dance training organisation, now offers discounts for Southwark residents for its regular adult classes. Classes are held weekday evenings and weekends and are suitable for all ages and abilities. There are a range of dance styles to try, including Ballet (as well as beginner classes), Contemporary, Contemporary African and Jazz.

Central is located in Southwark, a short walk from Waterloo station, and in between Blackfriars and Southwark tube stations. The classes cost £13, and now Southwark residents are eligible for a 10% discount on every regular drop-in class. This is an extension of the existing 10% discount for Southwark residents on classes for children and young people. There’s an additional special offer for Beginners Ballet and Beginners/General Contemporary African classes where Southwark and Lambeth residents get a discount of 50%. Booking is easy via the Central School of Ballet website.

Mark Osterfield, Central’s Executive Director, said: “We know that Central’s adult classes are an increasingly popular way to have fun, but also to help improve wellbeing. This new discount is specifically aimed at our local neighbourhood, hoping that we can encourage more people to try dance.”

A Southwark Council spokesperson, said: “This offer is a fantastic opportunity for those keen to acquire a new skill or brushing up on an existing talent. Dancing not only brings joy but also offers benefits to physical, mental wellbeing, and provides an excellent chance to connect with new people.”

Central’s adult classes are a fun way to enjoy the benefits of dance and learn new skills. The joys of dancing improve fitness and general wellbeing. Central’s classes are a welcoming and supportive environment for all. The classes are eligible for adults from 18 years upwards, with many classes attended regularly by mature participants. Classes are taught by professional level tutors from across London. There is also the opportunity to take a class with Hubert Essakow, who is an ex Royal Ballet Soloist and Rambert dancer.

Places for the classes can be booked online through Central’s website, where Southwark residents should use the code Southwark10 to access the discount.
