Central Opens Applications for Undergraduate Courses

Applications opened today for Central’s undergraduate degrees in Professional Dance and Performance. Students wishing to join the School in September 2024 may now apply online to attend an in-person audition or submit a video audition. Central announced eight audition locations for this year’s tour, taking place in London, Glasgow, Leeds, Cornwall, Singapore, South Korea, Osaka, and Tokyo.

Each year Central receives hundreds of applications from talented dancers competing for around 45 degree course places. Applicants who meet the basic entry requirements will be offered a place at Central’s preliminary auditions, where they will have the opportunity to dance for Artistic Director, Kate Coyne, and a panel of Central’s expert tutors.

“It is an exciting time to join Central School of Ballet, with the 40th anniversary last year we feel that we are building on a strong history of training exceptional dancers while continuing to evolve to meet the needs of today’s dance industry. We actively encourage applications from talented dancers from underrepresented backgrounds. We are delighted to introduce our newly launched, Assisted Application Scheme which we hope will support and enable applications from talented dancers who may benefit from additional support or guidance. The opportunities we are offering our students on the degree course are enabling us to create passionate and versatile graduates ready to make their mark in the dance industry.” – Kate Coyne, Artistic Director

Central also announced today a variety of opportunities for applicants to get to know the school and find out if Central could be the right place to support them through their training. Open days are available for dancers to visit the studios and learn more about Central’s Professional Dance and Performance Degrees. Dance Days are also on offer at regional UK audition locations for young people to experience class with Central’s degree course tutors.

All information applicants need to know about the courses and how to apply can be found on Central’s website.
