Ballet Central Tour Announced for 2024

4 April 2024

The Ballet Central tour returns this summer with a diverse and dynamic programme, presenting a mixed bill of classical and contemporary works. Ballet Central showcases the talent and artistry of Central School of Ballet’s graduating class of 2024. This year’s tour will be visiting 10 locations across the country, performing at familiar and much-loved venues, as well as visiting some theatres for the first time.

The tour will premiere in London, at the Lilian Baylis theatre, Sadlers Wells. It will then close at the Britten Theatre in London, where Central School of Ballet will also be hosting its summer showcase and graduating ceremony. For the full list of venues and performance dates, see below.

Ballet Central 2024 presents captivating works by acclaimed choreographers. The company will perform two newly commissioned works: Jules Cunningham’s Stay On It, a contemporary work to a rhythmic track by minimalist composer Julius Eastman; and Carolyn Bolton’s Night Flight v2.0, a high energy ballet with striking lines and celestial formations set to a new score by Philip Feeney. Programme highlights also include Daniel Davidson’s recent work, I think we’re on different planets, a moving evocation of heartache and our yearning for connection. The performance will end with the final act of Petipa’s Coppélia, a celebration of classical ballet staged by Adela Ramirez, with a stunning score by Leo Delibes.
