Ballet Central Opening Night This Week

Ballet Central will kick off its 2023 tour this Thursday in Dunstable’s Grove Theatre. The Company will then visit twelve more venues across the country, performing a total of fourteen shows over the three-month tour. Launching in Dunstable, the show will visit much-loved Ballet Central venues including Newbury Spring Festival, Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s Wells, and Birmingham’s Crescent Theatre before two finale performances at the Britten Theatre in London.

As the show opens, the dancers expressed their thoughts on this year’s tour:

“I’m looking forward to performing on stage and making an impression on the audience. I am so excited to work hard together with the other dancers to create the best performance for our audiences. The Ballet Central tour is a good chance for people who have not watched ballet before to experience a ballet performance for the first time.” – Nina Aizawa

“I am looking forward to touring across the country and to bring ballet and dance to wider communities who do not usually have access to watching large scale productions. I am also excited to gain vital performance experience and insight to how a professional company works.” – Rachel Neale

“I am truly honoured to be an artistic member of Ballet Central Touring Company and cannot wait to perform such challenging and exciting repertoire this summer. I have loved growing closer as a year group and watching everyone develop into professional artists.” – Anabelle Paton
