Online half-term courses met with praise

From 15 February to 18 February, approximately 200 children and young people took part in Central’s programme of online half-term courses.

This half-term, the courses ranged from One Day Ballet Courses and Intensives for ages 4-16 years to a Dance Around the World workshop for young people of all abilities aged 8-18 years. Across the week, participants learned about a variety of dance styles including American jazz, South-Asian dance, Irish dance, ballet and contemporary.

Feedback from students and parents has been very positive:

“It was brilliant. The teachers were attentive and knowledgeable, offering good feedback and corrections.”

“I really valued the whole experience. I learned a lot about the importance of musicality when performing and how tell to tell a story through the artistry.”

“[The course] really boosted my confidence and made me realise how much I’d love to train at Central. I’m definitely going to apply for the Associate Programme.”

Debra Cougill, Head of Widening Participation and Access says: “It has been a truly wonderful week.  The young learners have shown tremendous focus and commitment to their training and we have met some very talented individuals. It was also fantastic to see the young participants on some of our Intensive courses engaging with Central’s undergraduate students discover more about full-time training.”

If you are interested in attending further classes at Central, our Junior School is open to children of all abilities 3-18 years and applications are open to join our pre-vocational Associate Programme for 11-16 years in September 2021. See further details below.

Applications will also open soon for a four-day Spring Intensive taking place 7th-10th April for 11-16 year olds considering applying for full-time vocational training.
