Central School Of Ballet

Supporting Ballet Central

Why support Ballet Central?

Ballet Central provides a real 'on the road' experience of a professional touring company for our third year Senior School students. Touring to a range of venues in a variety of locations enables our dancers to develop into confident, versatile performers, used to adapting to theatres and stages of all shapes and sizes. By giving them the chance to help backstage with lighting, costumes and set up, our young dancers are able to grow into seasoned professional artists with an informed understanding of stagecraft, making them ideal company members when they start their first jobs upon graduating.

"I can normally spot a Ballet Central student after just a few minutes working in a studio. They are always professional, they understand how theatre works and they engage physically and (most importantly) verbally in the creative process."

Christopher Hampson, Artistic Director, Scottish Ballet

The Ballet Central tour provides entertainment and inspiration to audiences of 5,000 people a year. Its popular mixed programmes delight audiences and promote dance across the UK, whilst giving our dancers the opportunity to showcase their talents. With repertoire which includes a range of classical, neoclassical, contemporary and narrative works, Ballet Central’s performances are family-friendly and universally appealing, offering our dancers varied performance opportunities and our audiences the chance to see revivals of old favourites and exciting new works specially commissioned for the company.

“Ballet Central seems to be on an upward trajectory, looking finer all the time.”

Deborah Weiss, Dance Europe, July 2015

Your donation will contribute towards the costs of staging one of the pieces in Ballet Central’s 2017 repertoire which includes costumes, rehearsals, lighting, staging, performance and tour costs. The repertoire for the 2017 tour will be announced soon.

All supporters will receive acknowledgement in the 2017 Ballet Central programme.

  • £250 Production Sponsors will receive two complimentary tickets to a Ballet Central performance at one of the regional venues, subject to availability.
  • £500 Production Sponsors will receive two complimentary tickets to a Ballet Central performance at one of the regional venues (subject to availability) and an invitation to an open rehearsal at Central's headquarters.
  • £1000 Production Sponsors will receive an invitation to Ballet Central's flagship London performance and an invitation to an open rehearsal.

We also have pieces available for sole sponsorship (you will be the only sponsor) for £3000-£5000. For your generous donation you will receive complimentary tickets for the Ballet Central tour, you will be offered the chance to observe a rehearsal of the piece you are sponsoring and your support will be acknowledged in Ballet Central publicity materials.

Sponsor the Ballet Central photo shoot

Each year we work with a leading dance photographer to take the photographs for the Ballet Central tour. Over several days in a professional studio, the photographer works with our resident costume designer, supported by hair and make-up professionals, to capture the excellence and excitement of the upcoming tour on camera. These images are featured in tour publicity in print, online and at all our venues throughout the season, as well as in the programme which is made available for sale across the country to our 5,000 strong audiences.

We are looking for a sole sponsor for the photo shoot for £5,000.

As a thank you for your sponsorship, you will receive a copy of the finished programme signed by the photographer, and if the photographer and studio allow it we will do our best to arrange for you to visit the shoot to see the photographer in action (please note, that we cannot guarantee this as certain elements of the shoot are beyond our control but we will do our best to arrange this for you). You will also receive tickets to a Ballet Central performance of your choice in 2017. Your support will be acknowledged in the Ballet Central programme or kept anonymous, depending on your preferences.

Sponsor a dancer on tour

Your donation of £5,000 will enable a student to go on tour by covering the cost of rehearsals, choreography, costumes and other touring costs.

For your generous gift you will receive a postcard from the student whilst they are on tour, an opportunity to meet the dancers and complimentary tickets to enjoy a 2017 Ballet Central performance. You will also be acknowledged in Ballet Central publicity materials (if you would like to be).

This is a great opportunity to nurture a student on tour as they gain valuable professional experience which helps them launch their future career as a dancer.

"[A] graduate from Central School of Ballet is a valuable asset in any company for they have already experienced life as a professional dancer by touring with Ballet Central. I have had the pleasure of working with many highly talented and individual graduates of Central School of Ballet, indeed, several have played demanding leading roles in my productions with great success."

Matthew Bourne, Artistic Director, New Adventures
