Third year student Natasha Chu leads rehearsals for End of Year Performance

This week third year student Natasha Chu has been in the studio rehearsing her work titled IYA-ILU with second year students. The piece will feature in Central's End of Year Performances at Stratford circus Arts Centre.

IYA-ILU meaning mother of drums, explores the talking drum as an instrument and its original form.

Natasha is in her third year at Central studying towards a BA Hons Degree in Professional Dance and Performance. She is also a member of the 2018 Ballet Central Company which is currently on tour.

Natasha has been developing her choreographic repertoire as part of her studies at Central. She was awarded first place for her work Physaliidae at Central’s 2017 Choreography Platform, an annual event where first and second year students are invited to showcase choreographic works. Physaliidae was also selected for inclusion in Central’s 2017 End of Year School Performance. In February 2018, Natasha’s work Shizaru was performed at the Variety Catherine Awards, and in May 2018 at the Arts Society's Annual General Meeting. Natasha was also selected to take part in the 2018 Netherlands Choreography Competition..
