Sarah Wildor leads workshops at Central

Calendar Posted 19 December 2018

Sarah Wildor, former principal dancer with the Royal Ballet has been working with Central's second year students throughout the autumn term as part of the Dance Studies programme.

During these sessions the students have had the opportunity to develop their knowledge of key dance practitioners. Through practical workshops they have developed their understanding of stylistic and historical contextual differences between a variety of choreographers. Sarah has been working with the students to develop their understanding of how to express meaning and emotion through performance.

The workshops in the final week of term were the culmination of this work which was observed by members of Central’s artistic staff and first year students.

Iryna Pyzniuk, Head of Studies at Central said "It was inspiring to observe Sarah sharing her expertise, skilfully drawing out the motivation and intention behind movement. For the students it has been incredibly valuable to learn from Sarah’s experience and clarity of teaching which also supports Central’s vision, to nurture dancers who communicate."
