Calendar Posted 18 September 2017

Third year student and Ballet Central dancer Harris Beattie has won the Gold Medal at this year's Genée International Ballet Competition in Lisbon. He also won the Margot Fonteyn Audience Choice Award and the Choreographic Award. He is the first dancer in the competition's history to have won all three medals!

The 2017 Genée International Ballet Competition was this year held on 7-16 September in Lisbon, Portugal. The 52 candidates were coached in the studios of Companhia Nacional de Bailado from 8-12 September, followed by the competition which was held on Saturday 16 September with just 11 finalists.

All at Central are incredibly proud of the determination and hardwork exhibited by Harris and the team that work tirelessly to support him, especially Resmi Malko, second year men's ballet tutor at Central who worked with him at school, over the summer and in Lisbon.
