Central students perform at Royal College of Music Concert

Calendar Posted 31 October 2018

At the weekend four second year Central students performed at a concert at the Royal College of Music.

The event was a family concert, for children aged 4+, and explored Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique through a narrator who guided the audience through the five movements.

Central’s dancers took part in the second movement, ‘A Ball’. They danced along the aisles and through the audience whilst accompanied by a 60 piece orchestra.

Kate, one of the dancers said “It was a really exciting opportunity to be involved in such a unique and special event. We had two weeks to prepare for the performance in between our scheduled classes. I enjoyed working closely with the other dancers and Jenna Lee on original choreography and it was a privilege to perform alongside the orchestra on the day. It was a fantastic opportunity to gain live performance experience and to develop the skills required for this, such as adapting the choreography to the space.”
