Central’s Musical Director nominated In 2018 National Dance Awards

Philip Feeney, Central’s Musical Director has been nominated in the category of Outstanding Creative Contribution in the 2018 National Dance Awards.

Philip has been working with Central for 35 years, and has composed over forty scores for Ballet Central during this time. Philip has also collaborated with many companies including Northern Ballet, the Martha Graham Company, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Rambert and numerous internationally recognised choreographers including Michael Pink, David Nixon and Christopher Gable, with his works being having been performed extensively worldwide.

Christopher Marney, Central’s Artistic Director said “Having a highly acclaimed composer as part of the Ballet Central team, who understands and supports our artistic endeavours contributes enormously to our success as a dance company.”

The National Dance Awards take place annually and are organised by the Dance Section of the Critics’ Circle. In their 19th year, they “celebrate the vigour and variety of Britain’s thriving dance culture.”. They are presented by the Dance Section of the Critics’ Circle, which brings together over 60 dance writers and critics. They are the only awards given by the body of professional dance critics in the UK. The winners will be announced at a lunchtime ceremony to be held in Central London on Monday, 18th February 2019.
