Thursday 31st January 2019 Isabel Campbell writes:

Seven 2nd year Central students are performing with Yorke Dance Project in a revival of Kenneth MacMillan's 'Playground', part of their TWENTY Anniversary Programme, which celebrates 20 years of performing inspiring dance by past masters and emerging artists from the UK and USA.

Following workshops held at Central last term led by Yolande Yorke-Edgell, seven Central students were selected to take part in this project. Since December the students have been working with the company, alongside original cast members on the restaging of Kenneth MacMillan's 'Playground'.

Central students together with students from Rambert School will form the 'chorus' in the work.

Opening 31st January in Bournemouth at the Pavilion Dance South West and then touring to venues across England, the tour will culminate at the Clore Studio Royal Opera House in May!

Central students perform in English National Ballet's 'Manon'

Thursday 17th January 2019 Isabel Campbell writes:

Four second year Central students; Olivia, Karya, Erin & Jessica are appearing in English National Ballet's 'Manon' this week in London.

They will be performing the roles of beggars during the run of shows this week at the Coliseum.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to gain professional performance experience, and all at Central wish them the best for their upcoming performances.

Student Erin says "Taking company class alongside the professional dancers has been a great privilege. I have particularly enjoyed the sense of unity amongst the cast during the rehearsals, and it has been so fun to embody a character and the story with the whole company. I have learned how every role in a production contributes significantly to the telling of the story."
