New Adventures student associates begin Swan Lake rehearsals

Thursday 16th August 2018 Isabel Campbell writes:

This week rehearsals began for the New Adventures production of Swan Lake. Two Central students, Alexandra Fadayiro and Lewis Bondu, earlier this year named as the 2018-19 student associates will join the rehearsals and support the Company by performing in various performances during the show’s Christmas season at Sadler’s Wells..

This is the third year of the scheme, which has kickstarted the careers of all the alumni that have taken part, with each of them continuing to work with New Adventures throughout their UK and International tour of Cinderella.

Working with New Adventures will offer Alexander and Lewis invaluable professional experience and allow them the opportunity to further discover themselves as young artists in this iconic masterpiece.

Star of 'An American in Paris' leads masterclass on Central's Summer Course

Wednesday 1st August 2018 Isabel Campbell writes:

This week star of An American in Paris, Leanne Cope, has been teaching on the Summer Course at Central.

Leanne starred as the lead character Lise Dassin in both the Broadway and West End productions of the show.

All girls on the programme attended a masterclass led by Leanne based on a solo from the show.- a musical play inspired by the 1951 Academy Award-winning film of the same name, adapted for the stage by Christopher Wheeldon.

The one and two week Summer Courses at Central offer an excellent opportunity for children aged 14-16 to experience life in full time vocational training. The programme consists of a daily ballet class and pointe/ boys coaching on every alternate day. Depending on the length of the course, participants will also have the opportunity to take classes in jazz, character, improvisation, creative choreography and special masterclasses.
