Wednesday 27th September 2017 Isabel Campbell writes:

Yoga classes are to begin at Central this coming Tuesday October 3rd, 7.30-8.30pm! The new Yoga class will join the diverse programme of classes that make up Central Nights, Central's adult evening drop-in classes.

The Yoga classes, led by Korina Tsipoura will be of the Vinyasa style, literally meaning 'movement linked with breath'. The class will be open level and will be a holistic workout for the body and mind, as the grace and flow of contemporary dance is combined with strong yoga sequences.

Through physically challenging poses participants will develop strength and flexibility. Particular attention will be placed on correct posture and alignment, promoting injury prevention, self-maintenance and longevity.

Please bring your own mat. Some spare mats will be available.

Central MA Choreography graduates present new works

Wednesday 20th September 2017 Isabel Campbell writes:

Central MA Choreography Graduates Holly Noble (2017) and Richard Bermange (2015) last week produced an evening of live dance, music and film at the Hospital Club in London's Covent Garden.

Under the production name Assembled Artists, Richard and Holly focused on the contemporary classical artist and curated an evening around this theme.

They presented works including new and revised pieces that had evolved from ideas germinated in their MA Choreography Course at Central. They invited choreographer Susie Crow to contribute as well as film maker Sonya Hakim Karlsson,(with whom Richard co-produced a new dance film, which premiered on the night) and contemporary strings duo, Balladeste as well as classical musicians Preetha Narayanan and Tara Franks.

After the event, Richard said "The evening went really well and was the first of its kind at the Hospital Club. We hope to continue to collaborate with the club and to produce events similar to this in the future."

Both have exciting futures in the dance industry; Richard is about to return to Beijing where he has been working as the choreographer of a children's musical about the Silk Road, and the history of this ancient trading route. Holly will soon be undertaking the Clore Leadership Programme and has also gained a place to further her studies on an MFA at Trinity Laban.
