Central celebrates the life of Christopher Gable

Wednesday 13th March 2019 Isabel Campbell writes:

Today we celebrate the life of Christopher Gable, Founder of Central who was born on this day in 1940. Christopher’s aim was to put theatricality at the heart of classical ballet performances, and this continues to influence the training that Central offers.

Kenneth MacMillan’s House of Birds is part of the Ballet Central 2019 repertoire. Christopher recreated the lead male role of this ballet, inspired by the macabre fairtyale 'Jorinda and Joringel' in 1963 (pictured here alongside Maryon Lane)..

Director Heidi Hall dedicates Central's achievements to Christopher Gable's legacy

Tuesday 23rd October 2018 Heidi Hall writes:

On the 20th anniversary of the death of Central's Founding Director, Christopher Gable, Director Heidi Hall dedicates Central's achievements to his legacy.

”Today, I dedicate all that we have achieved at Central to the memory of my beloved teacher and mentor Christopher Gable, who died 20 years ago today. His vision of leading a school that nurtures theatrical, versatile and highly employable talent is a vision I strive to fulfil every single day. We continue to miss him but his voice is very much alive in each dancer that trains with us at Central.”
