Third year student joins New Adventures production of 'Romeo & Juliet'

Congratulations to third year student and Ballet Central dancer Alexander Fadayiro who joins Matthew Bourne's New Adventures for the company's production of Romeo & Juliet this year.

Alexander will join the company from this week for rehearsals and will perform on their UK tour from May to October.

Alexander was formerly a student associate with New Adventures alongside third year Central student Lewis Bondu. The scheme is in its third year and has helped to launch the careers of all the Central alumni who have taken part.

Central alumni cast in Matthew Bourne's 'Romeo and Juliet'

Central is pleased to announce that nine Central alumni and students have been cast in Matthew Bourne's New Adventure's Romeo and Juliet.

The cast includes 2018 graduate Natasha Chu and current third year student, Student Associate, Alexander Fadayiro. The other alumni cast are; Reece Causton, Kate Lyons, Andrew Monaghan, Stephen Murray, Danny Reubens, Mark Samaras and Seren Williams.

"Matthew Bourne’s Romeo and Juliet is a passionate and contemporary re-imagining of Shakespeare’s classic love story. Confined against their will by a society that seeks to divide, our two young lovers must follow their hearts as they risk everything to be together.."

Romeo and Juliet is New Adventures' first new production since Red Shoes in 2016. The show will tour across the UK from 13 May- 20 October 2019. For a full list of tour dates and to book tickets, go the New Adventures website.

Central alumni and students star in Matthew Bourne's 'Swan Lake'

Eight Central alumni and students star in the cast of Matthew Bourne's New Adventures 2018/19 production of Swan Lake.

The tour opened on Saturday in Plymouth and will tour across the UK until May 2019, including a two month run in London at Sadler's Wells. Click here for further information about the tour.

The six alumni are Nicole Kabera, Tom Broderick, Dominic North, Milwhynne Williams, Katrina Lyndon and Michaela Guibarra.

The two students, Lewis and Alexander, both in their third year at Central are the 2018/19 Student Associates with New Adventures. For further information about this programme, visit the New Adventures website.

New Adventures student associates begin Swan Lake rehearsals

This week rehearsals began for the New Adventures production of Swan Lake. Two Central students, Alexandra Fadayiro and Lewis Bondu, earlier this year named as the 2018-19 student associates will join the rehearsals and support the Company by performing in various performances during the show’s Christmas season at Sadler’s Wells..

This is the third year of the scheme, which has kickstarted the careers of all the alumni that have taken part, with each of them continuing to work with New Adventures throughout their UK and International tour of Cinderella.

Working with New Adventures will offer Alexander and Lewis invaluable professional experience and allow them the opportunity to further discover themselves as young artists in this iconic masterpiece.

New Adventures and Central announce 2017/18 Student Associates!

New Adventures and Central School of Ballet are pleased to announce the Student Associates for 2017/18 are Hannah O’Brien and Louis Van Leer.

Third year students; Hannah and Louis, were selected after a weekend of auditions at Central earlier this year. Both will be involved in the rehearsal period for Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella which begins on 8 November at 3 Mills Studios. They will then support the Company by performing in various performances during the show’s Christmas season at Sadler’s Wells from 9 December 2017 – 27 January 2018, and further on in the Cinderella UK tour.

Last year saw the first two associates Stephen Murray (due to perform in Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella this year) and Brittanie Dillon who both took part in the creation of Matthew Bourne’s production of The Red Shoes and performed in the show at Sadler’s Wells (London) as well as other venues on the 2016/17 UK tour.
