Ballet Central
On the road
Ballet Central provides a unique training experience for third year students, who come together to form a professional touring company. The company performs at up to 25 venues across the UK, and gives Central dancers a real flavour of touring life ‘on the road’.
Established Reputation
The touring company is not just a training ground for dancers, but also a highly respected and established event in the dance calendar. Each year’s repertoire is developed around the artistic talents of its students. In 2007 new works and revivals were created with the help of Rafael Bonachela, Christopher Bruce, Sara Matthews, Helgi Tomasson and William Tuckett.
Getting involved
As a third year dancer, you won’t just perform on stage but will also contribute to lighting, wardrobe, preparing the stage, and front of house. This gives students an experience of the whole support organisation behind a dance performance, and a more rounded sense of the day-to-day life of a professional dancer.
The depth and excellence of this final year of training has seen many Ballet Central graduates go on to perform with some of the world’s leading dance companies.
