Our secondary school involvement provides the opportunity for Central to get involved with the community through yearly partnerships with London schools.

Bringing dance into schools

Central workshops use contemporary dance as an accessible way to promote fitness and creativity amongst schoolchildren. Workshops are led by experienced dance education practitioners, assisted by students from the school.

Following the project, schools are invited to attend our end-of-year matinee performance.

City of London Festival

Central was able to provide a series of workshops with two Southwark secondary schools during the City of London Festival last year. Inspired by the work of French choreographer Lionel Hoche, the workshops gave students a unique insight into the profession by allowing them to meet and speak with him about his work.
